There are 6 main foods that you should be getting into your diet every day for optimal health. Dr Fuhrman uses the acronym G-BOMBS to help remember them. They are Greens, Beans, Onions, Mushrooms, Berries and Seeds.
Greens come first on the list and rightly so. This is the food we should be eating the most of. They are the most nutrient dense food on the planet. They are also versatile, lending themselves to being consumed raw or cooked in many different ways. My favorite way to eat kale is as Kale Chips .  You can chop it up and add to soups or stews, eat fresh as a salad like my Massaged Kale Salad, or even dehydrate it and grind into a powder to add to your morning shakes!
Beans have to be one of my favorite foods, Rancho Gordo beans in particular. They are loaded with fiber so they help to keep you full throughout the day. I love to eat mine cooked with some greens like my Beans n’ Greens recipe with hot sauce, diced red onion and sliced jalapeños. Yum. They are also packed full of vitamins and nutrients.
Onions make up the base of almost all of my recipes except for desserts of course. Loaded with phytochemicals, onions help you fight off toxins and free radicals. It also helps in lowering and regulating your blood sugar.
Mushrooms have recently been labeled as anti-cancer fighters by Dr. Fuhrman. I try to put them in as many of my dishes as possible like my Plant Based Butter Chicken recipe.
Berries are our super antioxidant foods that provide many health benefits such as longevity, better memory, inflammation reduction and anti- cancer fighting properties. One of my favorite berry recipes is my Blueberry Cobbler.
Seeds contain the all important Omega 3 fats that our bodies need for heart health among many others. I use sunflower seeds in my Kale Chips recipe.
