Ingredients
 
 

  • cup cilantro chopped
  • cup basil fresh
  • cup green onions chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • ¼ cup deglet dates or medjool, or raisins
  • ½ jalepeño optional
  • ¼ cup lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp white wine vinegar
  • 1 tsp tamari low sodium
  • ¼ cup water
  • 14 ounces tofu extra firm, drained, cut into bite size cubes

Instructions
 

  • Add all ingredients except for the tofu into a blender and blend.
  • Add the tofu cubes to a tupperware container and pour the sauce over the top. Place lid on container and shake to mix well.
  • Place container in fridge overnight or at least 6 hours.
  • Using a slotted spoon scoop out tofu and place onto a parchment lined baking tray.
  • Save left over marinade to use as a drizzle or to use as a salad dressing.
  • Bake tofu at 400°F for 20 minutes.
  • You can use the tofu in pasta, pasta salad or as a sandwich topping.
  • Keep in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.

  1. Hi. Can I bake them in the oven? My oven air fryer doesn’t work very well. If yes, what temp and how long? Thanks

    1. Yes, I would bake them at the same temperature in the oven but check them at 15 minutes to see if they are done enough for your taste.

    Thanks so much for this delicious recipe!
    Your Green Goddess dressing is SO fresh and wonderfully tasty, that after putting it together, I couldn’t bring myself to cook it! I didn’t want the heat to alter it.
    Instead, I pan fried the slabs of tofu on the range until browned, plated and poured this divine sauce on top of them! WOW!! Tofu and this Green Goddess dressing were meant to be together!!
    I will be making this delicious and versatile dressing, (I’m serving it today with a Salade Niçoise!), regularly to accompany all sorts of things!
