Two Vegan Ice Creams: Butter Pecan & Coffee
We are back with two more mind blowing ice cream flavors: Butter Pecan & Coffee! Are you ready to taste the most indulgent plant-based ice cream recipes you've ever tried? Our Häagen-Dazs style ice cream recipes are creamy, rich, and packed with amazing flavor – and the best part is, they are completely plant-based! You might be wondering how we managed to create such an incredible and luxurious ice cream using our usual whole food plant-based ingredients. The secret is the Ninja Creami Ice Cream Machine! We are not affiliated with Ninja but we had to make and share recipes using this machine because we are enjoying ice cream every night here at home! This ice cream has the rich texture and flavor of traditional Häagen-Dazs ice cream, but with none of the guilt. Whether you're vegan or just looking for a healthier dessert option, this recipe is the perfect way to indulge without sacrificing taste or texture. So what are you waiting for? Grab a spoon and dig in!

Thank you so much! I just got my Ninja Creami 3 days ago.
It’s really a game changer and makes sticking to a whole food plant based diet easier, particularly during the hot summer months.
I’ll be trying out these recipes in the weeks to come.
Thanks again
But what if you havnt got a Ninja Creami?! I’ve got just about every other kitchen gadget, but no room for any more!!! Ps I’m in the UK and just ordered your cookbook! Can’t wait for it to arrive! Xx
A traditional ice cream machine should work also but the super dense creamy texture is really only produced by this Creami machine. It is a unique appliance unlike anything else we have found and truly makes the texture of Haagen Dazs! The books are being printed and we are expecting them to arrive in the warehouse in late June to start shipping out to everyone. Thank you for pre-ordering all the way from the UK!
Jill, your Creami ice creams are the best! and the simplest! I loved last week’s. Can’t wait to try your butter pecan as it is one of my faves. Gotta run to the store for plant milk today. Would love to see a Pralines and Cream type ice cream.
Thank you so, so much!
If I don’t have the machine then how could I make these ice creams?
Thank you for any ideas…
I have a ninja duo and use the smoothie bowl setting I usually don’t let it go the full time. comes out great and I’ll put it on the freezer for about 40 minds to firm up Works in a blender to just don’t let it whip too long and then freeze for a bit
Unfortunately, we cannot afford an ice-cream machine! Love ice-cream.. always have.. but never really had any since we turned Vegan… Don’t trust the supermarket crap!!
I have the Ninja Creamy Deluxe (think that was what it was called) it has the bigger containers. So with your last ice cream recipe, I put the servings to 6 instead of 4 and printed out the recipe. It worked out perfectly! Just thought I would share! Can’t wait to try these recipes now!
Just ordered a ice cream machine, not like yours, but I am sure it will work ? look forward to trying your recipe
LOVE LOVE LOVE the Ninja Creami! I’ve been playing around with it for about a month, and it is such a game changer(especially for those of us with a serious sweet tooth while trying to maintain a WFPB lifestyle). Thank you for creating fabulous WFPB Ninja Creami ice cream recipes — can’t wait to add these to my repertoire!
Fortunately, my mother buys a lot of gadgets from QVC and had a brand new ice cream maker from Cook’s essential that did the job perfectly! It’s only $50 for the model which makes pint size containers and then they have an upgraded version that makes quarts for about 100 bucks. There is a small drawback and that is that it’s not the easiest to clean. Still, it makes ice cream within 40 minutes to an hour and a half and the price tag is a lot better than $200 for the Ninja.
oh my gosh, I LUV YOU! this is fantastic, i was low on soy milk so i used 2T of Hemp seed with one cup water straight in with all the other ingredients, worked like a charm !!
I make these all the time in my nutribullet and enjoy them with an “ice milk” like texture. I just pour it in a metal bread pan (or could use pie pan) and freeze it. The depth is less than 1/2 inch. During the freezing process (a few hours) I stir it a few times. I cut it in small chunks and put in in a bowl and when it softens I will sometimes stir in additions of nuts or fruit. It is very satisfying like an ice cream. I also cut into chunks or start by pouring into ice cube trays in order to put it through my omega juicer. It has a cone for processing frozen fruits into sorbets. Usually I’m too lazy to use the Omega and it tastes just fine straight from the freezer.
Approximately how much banana, e.g., cups or by weight? I’m 79 and don’t drive any more, so my groceries are ordered online and delivered to my home. It’s always a surprise to see what size bananas the store sends! The last ones were the largest I’ve ever seen, but the previous order almost looked like “seven dwarves” size.
Thanks!
approximately 120 grams
I don’t care for bananas, what would you recommend, not sure is the banana is only for sweetness or texture as well.
White sweet potato
I’ve made the Butter Pecan – YUM – and used the basic formula of this and the chocolate recipe to create a Nutella ice cream, here’s the ingredients if anyone else would like to try it, it was deliciously decadent!
Chocolate Hazelnut Ninja Creami recipe:
1 banana, ripe
10 deglet dates, or 5 medjool dates
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
0.5 cup hazelnuts, toasted & divided in half
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup soy milk, unsweetened, or plant based milk of your choice
Hey, would love to try the nutella icecream but don’t have a ice cream. How do I make it in a Nutribullet. Should I mix it in the nutribullet after the 1st freezing & refreeze again? Thanks.
These ice cream recipes won’t really work without an ice cream maker. They freeze rock hard.
WFPB 5 yrs. Just gained 5lbs on store bought ice cream, sometimes cannot resist, now back on track WFPB. Just ordered Delux Creami, 2 questions, #1. How increase yr recipe to accommodate larger Ninja cannister by 1 cup, and #2 possible use PB2 cashew powder in place of cashews, because if cashews in house temptation is too great.
Hmmm. Interesting question. I would try multiplying the ingredients by 1 1/2. I don’t think the PB powder will work. I use peanut butter now instead of cashews and it works great. A bit of whole food fat is necessary to make the icecream creamy. If I am correct, the PB powder is peanut butter with the fat removed.
Hi. Jill, thanks for putting in the weight of the bananas for the ice cream. It really helps for a guide. Is it ok to use frozen bananas in the ice cream recipes? I wondered if the weight would change after being frozen or change the texture of the ice cream. I am impatiently waiting for my bananas to ripen. Can’t wait to make more ice cream. Thank you!!!!! ?
I made my chocolate ice cream recipe using frozen banana chunks the other day and it turned out great but I only had to spin it once on the light icecream setting.
Can you clarify the serving size for the nutrition information you provide? Thanks!
There are 2 servings in each container. About a cup per serving.
I love that your ingredients don’t contain a lot of the extra powdered ingredients that I’m seeing online. Plus, the recipes are delicious.
Is there a way that I can print the entire recipe on one page? It looks like the ingredients are on the top half of one page and the instructions are on the top half of the second page. I even went for the smaller font option and it still prints on 2 separate pages.
We don’t really have control of how they print out. Sorry, we are just using a recipe template program.
Is the nutritional yeast necessary for the butter pecan recipe? I don’t have any at home. What does it do?
You can leave it out and it will be fine. It adds a richness and a slight salty element.
I’m excited to try your recipes. I’ve seen that several recipes call for nutritional yeast, which I’m sensitive to. Do you know of a substitute or a recipe for a nutritional yeast substitute I could use? Thanks so much.
You can leave the nutritional yeast out of this recipe and it will still be delicious.
My husband and I love the Butter Pecan ice cream and eat it several times a week! You’ve really outdone yourself. The consistency and flavor are fabulous!
I was skeptical (I have not had great luck with the Ninja Creami) and tried both of these recipes. DELICIOUS! I’ve also tried a walnut variation of the butter pecan recipe. Also delicious! You have given me hope that I can make tasty nice cream with this counter-hogging kitchen gadget. Thank you!
I don’t drink coffee ~ do I need the whole beans or can I use ground or instant? The coffee aisle is foreign to me and way too many choices
You can use instant coffee
Hello from Montréal.. my cousin is allérgic to nuts.. what can I use to replace the cashews? MERCI!
sunflower seeds or hemp hearts
Is there a banana flavor to the butter pecan ice cream?
Slightly
