Greens n’ Beans

by Jill Dalton

This has been a go-to recipe for me for years now. When I just can’t think of anything to make, this is what I usually end up with, but my family never complains because it is absolutely delicious. And for me it is a great recipe because it has loads of greens in it. You can use just about any green you want but I find that this is a good recipe to use the hardier greens like collards or kale.

Ingredients

2 cans of beans ( black beans, pinto, kidney, or any others that you like)
1 onion, diced
1 large bunch of greens ( I used collards, but kale would also work )
1 tsp onion powder
2 tsp Braggs liquid amino acids

Instructions

  1. Prep kale by destemming and cutting into small pieces.
  2. Add a couple tablespoons of water to a large pan and sate onions until translucent.
  3. Add beans, onion powder, Braggs and kale and cook until kale is soft. About 10 minutes.

Oh my goodness! All I can say is…delicious! Not gonna lie, my husband & I were a little skeptical but I’m so glad we tried it because this is definitely a keeper! We used hot sauce & some of the cheese from your pizza recipe & it was out of this world!

Great presentation Jill, but may I please suggest that you tie back your hair because that piece hanging over your face was so annoying to watch.
