Sugar Free Candy Corn Smoothie

Ok, Halloween is almost here again and you are faced with the fact that your children are going to consume massive amounts of sugar. They are so excited but you know the consequences of that choice. Your little ones are going to be hyped up on sugar all day and then when you get home from all of the festivities and trick-or-treating the crash hits them. Parents, we all know what that crash means. Cranky, grouchy little people that we have to figure out how to deal with.

Well, here is a recipe that is just as festive as those cutely decorated cupcakes and the flavor is also just as good too. BUT, this recipe is going to nourish those little ones and hopefully fill their tummies so they don’t want to eat as much candy.

I designed this smoothie to look like candy corn =)



1 cup pineapple
1 cup banana
1/2 tsp turmeric
1 cup mango
1/2 cup carrot juice
1 cup banana
1/2 cup apple

Blend the pineapple, banana and turmeric and set aside. Blend the mango and carrot juice and set aside. Blend the banana and apple. Layer the juices in a clear glass starting with the pineapple mixture, then the mango mixture, and then the apple mixture so that it looks like candy corn.

Serves 2
